The Italian striker, who has revitalised his career at the Ligue 1 club after leaving Liverpool in the summer, has made himself into a fans' favourite in the south of France.
Such has been his impact, supporters painted over an image of former cult hero Hatem Ben Arfa with a portrait of Balotelli - and the accompanying caption 'Super Mario' - earlier this term.

He paid a visit in January and, fresh off the back of leading Nice to the continent's most prestigious club competition, Balotelli was back to have his picture taken next to his likeness.
He posted the snap on Instagram alongside a tribute to the French side's supporters' club.
Balotelli has scored 13 league goals in 19 appearances for Nice over the course of the campaign to lift the team into the Champions League.

They currently sit third in the standings, four points off leaders Monaco, but with a mammoth 19-point advantage over fourth-placed Lyon.
A 3-1 win against Nancy guaranteed a place in the top three, which hasn’t happened for 41 years.
Balotelli's goals return - which increases to 15 in all competitions - represents a major improvement on recent seasons.
He only managed two league goals across two seasons with Liverpool and AC Milan in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
